FORMER STREATORITE KILLED AT BEMENT
Lew Kollar, the Victim, a Brother of Andrew and John Kollar of This
City.
Last night Chief of Police Carroll received a message from Charles
Atkins, supervisor at Bement, saying that Lew Kollar, who had a miner's
union card issued at Westville, and who was believed to have two
brothers residing in Streator, had been killed there Thursday night.
The message requested the chief to locate the brothers and wire Atkins
what disposition should be made of the body.
Kollar has a brother, Andrew, living on Cotton street, and another
John, on Milner street. Officer Edward Liptak is a cousin of the
deceased.
The man now dead is said to have been about 40 years old. He was
unmarried, unless he should have entered the matrimonial state since
leaving this city, six or eight years ago.
No further particular of the accident by which Kollar met his death
had been received in Streator up to the time of going to press. It is
expected that the remains will be brought to this city for burial.
