Why not write to IRAD instead. They charge minimally. As I have
written to a few different IRADs in Illinois-some charged me nothing for
a marriage certificate--some charged me 25 cents per page with a minimum
charge of $1.00. I can't remember which one of these I was charged by
the IRAD that serves La Salle County. This is a lot less than the
Courthouse will charge you these days. Be sure to put in all the
information you found in the Illinois Marriage Index. Here's the
address--just add that you will be happy to pay for the cost of this
marriage certificate and they will bill you separately. Also, when I
have written I have asked for 2 or 3 marriage certificates and they have
complied.

Note a marriage in 1863 may not have parental information.

As it is in the listing I want to request a certificate and I am writing to the La Salle County Courthouse as suggested. Does anyone know the cost of this service? On the site it says that all counties differ in costs. Has anyone had recent experience is requesting a marriage cert. Can you tell me how much for this?
