I am researching the family of Ancel Hyde CLEAVER. There were two Ancel
Hyde's, the elder is said to have died in a mining accident. The younger
Ancel, (my maternal grandfather) was 13 at the time of the 1880 census, which
only lists him and his mother Louisa (HOOD) CLEAVER. They are shown to be
residing in Macoupin County and young Ancil is listed as a "Farmer". The
older Ancel was born in 1825 in Kentucky, young Ancel and his mother both
born in Illinois. Louisa would have been born abt 1834.I have found marriage
information for Ancel and Louisa and know the names of young Ancel's
siblings: Lois, Mary Margaret, and Albert, all born in the 1850's.This is all
the information I have on this elusive family line. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
