Gloria,

I have been monitoring FamilyDiscovery.com for two years. For the last year
or so, I have been issuing complaints to their ISPs about their business
practices and have been successful in getting them dumped from at least 15
ISPs. It looks like familydiscovery.com is no longer on line. However,
they may not be finished.

After reading through the "new" genealogydevelopments.com, I am virtually
sure that this is the same group of people from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, that was
running familydiscovery.com. The "pitch," grammar, syntax . . . everything
clicks. However, they have been very careful about not disclosing their
information on their site registration.

I know that genseekers.com was run by Brad Cook and Elias Abdeely of
familydiscovery.com, and this "new" genealogydevelopments.com has the same
IP addres as genseekers. They are the same guys doing it all over again
under a new name.

If you get spam from genealogydevelopments.com, forward it with headers to
the following email address and complain that genealogydevelopments.com is
violating their terms of service.

NEEDED to find FREE sites

I am sending one sample of messages which are being sent to many of
us. You DO NOT need to pay companies like Genealogist Helpers,
Family Discovery, GenTruth and the other versions of search engine
companies to find sites like USGenWeb and ILGenWeb or any other
(STATE)GenWeb site. All USGenWeb sites are FREE to find and FREE to
use as long as you don't use them commercially and abide by the
copyright. Make them a bookmark and you can get back to them
easily. Please pass this information on to all new computer users
you know who are just starting to research their ancestors.
