Penny and all
I have found that when using the online Illinois
Statewide Marriage Index you can use variations of the
surnames. For example, I'm researching the Pruitt
surname which has numerous spellings. In the surname
box I can put in "Pru" and get anyname that begins
with those 3 letters.
So, I got thinking about Penny's ordeal of not finding
the marriage of Buescher/Altevogt couple. Well I put
in a simple "ALT" in the bride's surname box and came
up on why she can find the record. It's listed as
follows -
Groom - RUSCHER, HENRY
Bride - ALTEROGT, MARY
County - MACOUPIN
Date - 10/24/1885
Volume/Page - /0179
License - 00001856
So Penny, here's your proof and you can go on from
here. Good luck.
