The St. Clair County probate case files cover all areas of the county.
**Generally** the earliest rolls are the earliest probates beginning c1817
but check the index (IRAD has index and first 250 or so rolls of the
intestate Estates; original wills from c1772). In some cases people with
wills will also have a few papers files in with Estate files - so check both
indexes.

When the project is complete, records through the 1960s will be on hand.
