Like another response said, you're probably putting in too much information.
If you would have put in Charles Reid Brown, the whole name, you would have
come up zip. But just Charles Brown brought up lots of possibilities,
including Charles R. Brown in 1936. Cook County is a little harder because
there are more records. And of course "Brown" is almost as common as Smith
and Jones. The Index can find names which include the letters you put in
PLUS names with those letters and more. Like Brown would also list Brownlow
etc. It will find names with MORE info than you put in but not LESS. So
always try all possibilities. In the 1916-1950, they're usually there
unless they died outside of Illinois.
