The Ancestry database won't help me since my ancestors are from Logan County
and that was an update of several counties including Sangamon.

The Illinois database at the State Archives doesn't list the marriage of one
set of my great grandparents and I keep hearing stories of others that are
missing. I really don't know if the records are lost [that particular record
was at the courthouse in 1970], misplaced, now unreadable or it is just
human error.

The Ancestry database is someone else's version of the same thing -- the
Family History Library -- so is worthwhile. They probably didn't miss the
same ones. However, lest there be any doubt, I am not pushing folks to sign
up for Ancestry.com. I haven't. I only post the FREE databases so you can
catch them if you need them while they are free to all.
