Helen, you have been so kind in looking up things for us, I wanted to say THANK YOU, and of course, now ask another favor seeing as I just stumbled upon a tremendous find last night for a great grandmother that I have been looking for forever . . turns out, that an S on the end of a name made all the difference.

Would you see if you have anything in the census info you have for a George Knights and his wife Lucy A. Rider who gave birth to my great grandma, Lillian A. Knights on July 10, 1859 in Stratton Township, Windham County, Vermont. Wondering if you have anything in the 1850, 60 or 70 census for that area. Thanks loads . . .

I checked the 1880 census for Shields. No Shields at all in Marion Co. so I
checked the entire US, did not come up with a Temperance, Tempie or Temp
Shields at all.
