Wilbert Tuttle was my great-grandfather. If anyone has info. on this family
I would love to hear from you. One question I have is if there are marriage
records available from 1868. A bio. sketch I have of John Milton Tuttle
states that he married Eliza M. Patterson (also from Fayette Co., PA) two
years after moving to Evans Twp., Marshall Co., IL.

Cindy, my Evans Twp. history (Old Sandy Remembers Celebrating Illinois
Sesquicentennial, Marshall County Historical Society, 1968) has a map
entitled "Survey of State Road in Marshall County Illinois" by Thomas
Patterson June 11, 1845. On page 92, it says, "On August 9, 1851 a fee of $3
was paid to B. Thos. Patterson, Marshall County surveyor, for surveying a
road in Evans Township..."

There is no mention of Tuttle in this history.

Good luck.
