Can anyone help me identify where the land that my ggg grandfather purchased
was located?

Whereas Joshua Cooley of Massac County Illinois, filed in Shawneetown, signed
1 June 1857. "the east half of the South East quarter and the south west
quarter of the south east quarter of section six in twsp fifteen south of
range six east in the district of land formerly subject to sale at
Shawneetown (unreadable poss nom) Springhill Illinois containing on hundred
twenty acres".
