According to an abstract of an obituary from Thursday, 17 August 1882, in the Macomb Journal:

Daniel SANDIDGE, an old citizen of Oakland twp died last Saturday at the residence of his son-in-law, J. LINDSEY near Walnut Grove, McDonough County. He was born in Kentucky on 23 February 1804 and married Miss Permala Pate of Lincoln County, Kentuck on 12 October 1825. In 1830 he came to Illinois and located in McDonough County where his wife died on 27 February 1845. In the fall of that year, he married Miss Cynthia PHILLIPS of Schuyler County who survives him. He removed to Schuyler County in 1850 and to Oakland twp. He was the father of 13 children, 6 daughters and 5 sons are living. He was buried in the Salem graveyard in McDonough County.
