To David Camp
I just noticed your message - what is Manassah's last name? I have a
Manassah Borror married into a branch of my family. They were from IL and
migrated to Anderson County, KS around early 1860's. Other names include
Mason, Norton, Rumbley, Channel, Morris & Scales.
Thanks
Ms. Cory Schick, OKC

Marilyn;
I apologize for taking so long to answer your e-mail. I have a computer
that can't read my mind and has one of its own at times. The problem is
that there is a loose nut on the keyboard.
Anyway, back to reality.
Records show that Manassah's parent were in NJ. when Manassah was born. I
had thought perhaps he went there as a veteran of 1812 war and picked up his
veteran benefit for land in Illinois and departed soon after Manassah was
born.
If it was Hosea from Georgia. That might explain the absence of
familyhistory as to family origin.
I'll check out your information.
I do appreciate your help.

Dave-
Using the Ancestry Census index Hosea Camp is listed in the Bond County
Federal Census 1820 (p.11) in Ripley Township, and 1820 State Census (p.18).
He appear again in 1860 Federal Census in Peoria County in Brimfield
Township. You should get a look at these census pages and see who else he
is listed with if you are looking for other family members.
There is also a Hosea Camp listed in the War of 1812 Muster Rolls. Also a
Georgia Regiment. A Hosea H. Camp is listed in the Civil War Muster Rolls
(Co C, 29th Mississippi Infantry). If he were serving in the Civil War,
outside of Illinois, this would explain his absence in the census for a
time. Perhaps family in the South?
Manisa Camp is listed in the 1850 Federal Census Montgomery County, 22nd
District SW Part (p110).
There is a CAMP family message board at Ancestry.com. It is free to access.
These other databases I got info from because I subscribe to membership.
Hope this helps.
Marilyn
