Tim,

I have a little on this line but probably not much more than you do.

Elza Creel Sanders b. 8/31/1821 Adair County, KY d. 3/8/1902 Nokomis,
Illinois. Buried in Nokomis Cemetery. Parents--John Sanders and Elizabeth
Powell
Married (1) 11/20/1840 Montgomery County, Illinois
Ruth Whitten b. 4/12/1823 Ky d. 9/29/1848 Parents--Ausitn Whitten Sr.
and Kesiah Casey.
Married (2) 2/25/1849 Nokomis, Montgomery County, Illinois
Sarah Ann Sturgeon b. 8/12/1830 Montgomery County d. 4/3/1912 Ohlman,
Illinois

I have conflicting information about Ruth and Elza's children. First I'll
put down what I found on the 1850 and 1860 census.

1850 Census
Elza Sanders 28
Sarah 20
Luciles 6
Elizabeth 4
Jefferson 4 months

1860 census--Audubon Township page 318
Elza Sanders 38
Sarah 30
Lucilla 17
Elizabeth 15
Jefferson 9
Nancy 7
Meca 4

Children of Ruth and Elza. (Much of this info I received from Ilene Jones
of Albuquerque, NM. Hope you don't mind my name dropping Ilene)
1. Luciles (Lucilla) (Lucille) Sanders was born 7/18/1842 and died
6/27/1869. She married Jesse M. Russell 10/20/1867. The marriage record on
IRAD lists her name as Drucilla Jane Sanders and the marriage year as 1861.
Name in some family records is Lavena. Mildred McDowell (descendant of
Jefferson Sanders) has her name as Drucilla I. Sanders.
2. J.C. Sanders b. 1843 and died 4/12/1887. Information from records of
Jane Powell Orton "Family of John Sanders and Nancy Triplett of Adair
County, KY 1989" Some say he is a son of Ruth's from a previous marriage
but I find no record of a previous marriage for Ruth. He is also not on the
1850 or 1860 census. Where is he? I also find it hard to believe that he
was born in between Lucille and Jane--they were only born a year apart as it
is.
3. Jane Sanders b. 7/7/1843 d. 7/7/1843
4. Elizabeth Ann Sanders b. 7/20/1844 d. 5/29/1887 In Filmore,
Illinois. Buried in Bost Hill Cemetery
married John J. Bost 4/11/1867. IRAD lists his middle initial as I. John
b. 1845 d. 1920 I found a John I. Bost on the 1900 census born March
1846. He is living in the John Hayes household as a boarder. His marital
status is listed as D.
I have 3 children for Elizabeth and John---Elza, Lena, and Minnie. There
are marriage records for Lena and Minnie on IRAD in Montgomery County.
On the 1850 census, there is a Bost family that is living 3 households away
from Elza Sanders. Head of household is Aron Bost 50 Farmer b. NC;
Eastes 51 NC; Wilson 26 School Teacher b. NC; Caleb 17 farmer NC;
Sarah 15 NC; John 5 Illinois. This "appears" to be the John who
married Elizabeth
There is another John Bost in the household of Jacob Bost. He is 14 born in
NC. Too old. Those were the only 2 John Bosts in Montgomery County in
1850.
On the 1860 census Eastfork Township of Montgomery County page 230:
Household 1678
Aaron Bost 58 farmer $5920 NC
Esther 60 NC
John J. 16 Farmer laborer Illinois
5. Keziah Sanders b.10/11/1846 d. 12/20/1847
6. Joseph Azriah Sanders b. 7/12/1848 d. 10/22/1848

I have access to the 1880 census but have to search page by page because it
is not indexed yet. Do you want to see what I can find on John Bost and his
children on that census? Would you happen to know which township? That
would make it a little easier.
