John W. Hughs married Sarah Caroline Hawkins of Jersey County, IL on 15
September 1850 in Jersey County. They made their home in Macoupin County and
produced the following children:

*Perry Hughs, b. 22 April 1853, IL; d. 17 October 1874; buried Kinder
Cemetery,
Macoupin Co.
*Josiah (J.?) Hughs, b. 25 January 1856, IL; d. 30 May 1864; buried Kinder
Cemetery,Macoupin Co.
*Selvestor Hughs, b. 21 March 1858; d. 29 August 1858; buried Kinder Cemetery,
Macoupin Co.
*Miles Hughs, b. 31 May 1859; d. 2 June 1859; buried Kinder Cemetery,
Macoupin Co.
*Fannie I. Hughs, b. 1860 in TX

The surviving members of this family migrated to Lamar Co., TX in late 1859
or early 1860 and are listed on the census there. John W. Hughs (b. abt.
1823 in IL) died in 1861. Sarah (b. abt. 1830) moved back to Macoupin County
with Perry, Josiah, and Fannie after 1861. In 1880 Sarah and Fannie are
listed on the census in the household of George and Sarah BAUGH as follows:

Sarah Caroline (Hawkins) Hughes died 16 March 1911 and was buried in Kinder
Cemetery in Macoupin County. Does anyone recognize any of these names? What
relation were Sarah and Fanny to the Baugh family? What happened to Fanny?
Did John W. Hughs have any connections with Montgomery County? I would
appreciate any help you can give me with these people. Thanks.
