I am looking for anyone researching the Scherer family. My G G Grandfather was JohnJefferson SCHERER b Jun 19 1837 In I believe Montgomery Co Ill. He is buried in Cress Hill Cemetery. I want to know who his parents were. I believe that it might be Frederick Scherer (mispelled Shure) in the index for 1850 census. Does anyone have any information on this family? Catherine CRESS married JohnJ Scherer Nov 21 1858. Thier first daughter Clara was my Great Grandmother. Any help would be greatly apprecaited.
