I am researching these related lines. William Henry Ferdon, a former New
York City native, married Martha Redman from Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. They
settled originally in Macoupin county, and he became the main auctioneer of
the area, especially at the sale of the plots of land that settled
Litchfield in Montgomery county, where they moved after 1870.

Their children: 1. Richard R. Ferdon (1840-74), married Clara Helsal in
Litchfield in November, 1871; had a son Frank in 1873 who died in 1877.
Richard died of typhoid pneumonia, his lungs being severely weakened from a
bullet wound received during the war.

2. Henry Clay Ferdon (1842-1924) married Melissa Murphy in Macoupin
county in 1866. Two children: James Monroe (1870) and Maude Mae (1877).
3. Charles B.-- (1846-1898) did not marry due to severe wound and
disability in the war.
4. Margaret D. (1848-1933) married (1) David A. Booz(e) Oct. 6, 1870
in Macoupin county. 5 children, 3 died. 2 survivors: William (b. 1871 in
Litchfield), and Minnie Pearl (b. 1877). Second marriage was to John Griffin
in 1887; four years after David's death in 1883.

David Booze's mothers relatives were the Powers clan who settled in Macoupin
county. David, as an orphan, lived with Esther Powers Edwards (his aunt)
and uncle Milton W. Edwards in Macoupin. David also worked in Litchfield
for a time as a printer.

David's line in particular is a brick wall, due to lack of people living any
substantial length of time. Would love to hear from anyone working on these
lines.
