Hi Helen,
Only joined this list this week. Was surprised to already see a name I'm
familiar with.
Not sure about an 1855 census. My direct line descendents (LOFY) did not
arrive until 1873. But, I am interested in your SAMMONS name. I recently
found out I may be tracing the wrong family line. My interest is a
Josephine Mary SAMMON, b. approx 1880 in Illinois. She married a Frederick
Joseph GRAEFF probably before 1904. I have found that the
SAMMON/SAMMONS/SALMON names are interchangeable in just about every family
I've researched.
Also, have much more info on SAMMON, etc families in general if you are
interested.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
