Subject: [ILMORGAN-L] MEXICAN WAR - FRANKLIN, IL.

I am looking for someone that may be able to help me with some historical
information regarding the city of Franklin, IL, Morgan County. Does anyone have
anything with regards to the enlisting of volunteers to serve in the war with
Mexico, 1846? Have found a reference to Franklin as being a location for
enlistment in this conflict. I am interested in ANY info, especially June, 1846 -
1st Illinois Volunteers, Co. G, under Capt. John Wyatt, with Col. John Hardin
having command of the regiment. Anyone with any info and/or knowledge of this era
please email me direct. Would there have possibly been any photos taken of the
volunteers that were enlisting at Franklin? Any & all help is highly appreciated.
Stan
