Sherrie -

William & Rosa Floyd are buried in Oakland Cemetery at Meredosia, IL.
There are quite a few Floyd burials in addition to these two and several
Ballard burials. I don't see any Bartlett burials however.

Keep visiting the Morgan Co. Web page as Oakland Cemetery will eventually be
listed here along with other Morgan County Cemeteries.

> I have just begun researching the Floyd family tree. I have only gotten
back a couple of generations. I am waiting for information from some
distant relatives that I have located. I know the basics about looking for
ancestors, but that is about all. I know many of my relatives were from
Meredosia and Jacksonville. I know that my great and great-great
grandparents are buried somewhere in Meredosia, but noone can seem to
remember the name of the cemetery, and noone in the family can seem to find
an obituary on them. My family isn't known for it's record keeping. I have
searched your cemetery pages for their names, but have come up empty handed.
I was wondering if anyone would have any information on the Floyd, Ballard
or Bartlett name. My great Grandfather is Harold Herbert Bartlett his wifes
name is Mettie Belle Truax Bartlett. There is some speculation that
Mettie's name was actually Minnie. She wouldn't let anyone call her by her
first name, I think her husband was!
> the only one who knew it. We all called her Belle. They may be buried
in peoria, but they were born in Meredosia around 1898. The other
grandparents are William Henry and Rosa Jane Ballard Floyd. His d-o-b is
6/14/1889 in Meredosia d-o-d is 6/24/1969 in Jacksonville. Rosa's d-o-b is
1/16/1894 in Kinderhook IL and her d-o-d is March 1977 in Jacksonville. I
am told that they are buried somewhere in Meredosia, as are many other
Floyds, Ballards, and some Bartletts. There should also be a Daniel Floyd
and an Arthur Floyd buried near William and Rosa. They were either
stillborn or died as infants I'm told. Noone in the family remembers the
dates for them.

hope that I am doing this right. I have never been part of a mailing list
