Dear Gladys:

Not necessarily. I found records in Scott County for land that my
g+grandfather purchased in Morgan County (before that section became Scott
County in 1839) that I didn't find in Morgan County. Maybe some of the
records were transferred to the new county court houses, but I wouldn't bet
the farm on it. You really should try both places.

Sooo, if someone were in what went to Cass County prior to 1845, their
records would remain in Morgan County after the land was transferred and
their records in Cass County would go forward only from 1845?
