Juli,
We have the records of Fancy Point Church near Loami, or New Berlin,
and it does indeed show several Coons family members. Here are the
entries for Coons spelled that way in my database. W. R. Dyer is a name
which is familiar to me. He died in 1917. Hope this helps someone. The
Mauvaisterre Church shown here, of which an M. Coons was a member very
early (in the 1820's) was located about five miles north of Jacksonville,
I don't know the exact location. There was another church called "South
Fork of Mauvaisterre" which was located southeast of Jacksonville, I
believe near Pisgah. There is a cemetery at the former site of that one.
