I am researching the Kasling/Kesling/Kiesling/Kießling family and am looking
for descendants of my grandfather's brother,Thomas Kesling.

My greatgrandfather, John Frederick Kasling (Kesling, Kiesling,Kießling) was
born 24 July 1832 in Quellenreuth, Bavaria, Germany, and died 15 Oct. 1892
in Cass County, Texas. He immigrated to the U. S. in 1852. He was the
Johann Kiesling who emigrated to the U. S. from Quellenreuth, Bavaria,
sailing on the Bark Constitution from Bremen, Germany to New York, arriving
on 16 April 1852 with a destination of Pittsburgh, Pa. From the Morgan
County, Illinois marriage records beginning 1851 and ending in 1869, there
is a record of Frederick Kesling¹s marriage to Elenor Quigley on the 21 of
May 1856, in Jacksonville, Illinois. From Elenor Quigley Kasling¹s
tombstone, she was born 18 June 1835, in Ireland and died 10 Oct 1889, in
Linden, Cass County, Texas. Their first child was Edward Stephen Kesling,
my maternal grandfather, who was born 28 Aug 1857, in Illinois, and died 2
July 1941, in Linden, Cass County, Texas. Frederick Kesling is not found in
the 1860 Census of Morgan County nor in the 1860 Census of Sangamon County,
but he is found in the 1870 Census of Morgan County, Illinois in
Mauvisterre Precinct with a Jacksonville postoffice, with his wife, Elenor,
and the following children: Stephen (my Grandfather), Mary, Thomas,
Isabelle, and Maggie. They are next found in the 1880 Census of Cass
County, Texas, without Thomas, and another daughter, Ella, has been born in
Illinois prior to their coming to Texas and their name is now spelled
Kasling and has been ever since. I have traced this family back to Endres
Kießling (ca 1566-1629) in Bavaria, Germany.

Elenor Quigley was born in Ireland and came to the U. S. ca 1849 at the age
of fourteen during the Irish famine. It is possible that Elenor Quigley was
the Ellen Quigley found on the ship manifest for the ship ³Jenny Lind²,
arriving in New York from Liverpool, England, on 6 Feb 1849. If this Ellen
was Elenor, she was traveling with her father - James Quigley (age 42),
Catherine (age 22), John (age 22), Mary (age 17), Bridget (age 13),
Catherine (age 9), Edward (age 8), Michael (age 35), James (age 25), and
Mary (age 21).

Please let me know if anyone recognizes any of the above.
