Who is John A. Robbs? I have seen the name ,Matilida. James Robbs,
grandfather to Albert, is also Mary's father. We are going to McClure on
the 17th to visit his grave. Bill found yesterday at Golconda Library that
he was in the 6th calvary and was one of 200 volunteers from Pope County
called the Horse Soldiers. He never returned home after the war. He was
only 32 when he left. He was also born in Stewart County as was his wife
Catherine Randolph (Sophia). There is some information in the History Books
about them. I am emailing a Robbs in Colorado and in England who has lots
of Robbs research. I'll be glad to share if you are interested. Looks like
you have at least two Robbs's in your family. I'd really like to find the
connection between James and the other Robbs from Pope County. I believe
they are all related.
I also have Catherine's family back to 1500.
