I found this little tidbit in the Pope County Courthouse and wanted to
share it with the group. Judy

State of Illinois ~ Pope County

I Polly Dyer do solemnly swear that the wolf scalp now here produced by me
was taken or killed by me within said State since the first day of May
1825. So help me God. Polly [her X mark] Dyer

Subscribed and sworn to before the undersigned clerk of the Pope Circuit
Court in said State of Illinois this 19th day of Sept. 1825
