I've never done any thing on the Lay family, but I do have where Charles
L. Lay married Leann Pirtle in Hamiliton
Co. Ill. Leann was a sister to Sarah Louise Pirtle who married Hardaman
Trout. I do know that Sarah and Hardaman came to Pope Co. and were there
in 1900 census.
Could there be a connection?
