The old Pope Co. biography book states that Jacob was the youngest son of
William from his first wife. The following are proven sons of William (note
their has never been a B found as his middle initial).
John b. ca 1799/00 m. Phebe Reece moved to Pope Co.
William b. ca 1800 m. Sarah Whitaker Dec. 16, 1832 Gallatin Co.Il. he did
live in Pope.
Samuel b. May 5 1806 m. Dec 13, 1827 Lincoln Co. Tn. Elizabeth Leigh (Lay)
James b. ca 1810 came to Pope Co.
Lewis b. ca. 1810 m. Mary Leigh (Lay) sister of Elizabeth
Elijah b. ca 1812 m. Elizabeth Bouscher ca. 1832 m. 2nd Sarah Spears June
29, 1840

When William died, Jacob returned to Lincoln Co. Tenn. with
authorizations from John, William and James for Samuel to sell Williams land.
I have research both lines of Lauderdales for almost 20 years now. I have
Lauderdale records from the Tennessee State Archives and the private
collection of Edith Whitley who authored many Tennessee books.
