Yes, he was living with them in the 1860 Census...I thought
at first perhaps he could be Mary's father, wrong, unless
this is a multiple marriage for her.
Mr. Schuchard must have died before 1880 because he doesn't show up
there. I do think, given the Germon dialect, that his last
name was really SCHUCHARDT instead of SCHUCHARD....and that
the listed GABEL is really GABLE (or originally GUEPLE).
I have no idea how the SCHUCHARDTs and the GABLEs are
related, other than through their origins and language.
It would be very interesting to find out, though.
Mary's maiden's name was MALER (listed on marriage certif),
their marriage date was June 26, 1853 by B.W.Holloway,
J.P. in Pope County. This appears fourth on the list of
"Marriage Records" I posted. (*B.W.Holloway, is also
related to us.)
I am sending this to the ILPope List, again to add to the
archives.
