like to introduce myself. My name is Neva Abbott. My husband Dan and I
have been married for 28 years and live on a small acreage in rural Port
Byron, Ilinois. We have two grown children. Dan works for John Deere and I
am a registered nurse at a local hospital. I have been researching my
husbands and my family some time and find that exchaning information can
prove very helpful. It is my hope that someone who subscribes to this site
may have some information that will help me move on as I seek to learn more
about my husband's family. The following is a brief summary of what I
have:

knows anything about the Abbott's, (or Abbitt's/Abbetts), Slankards,
Guills, Simmons, Lands, or Lloyd I would really appreciate it. I have an
old zerox copy of the book "The Silver horse" by Ray Trovillion, so I have a
lot on the Trovillion family. If you can not help me I would understand.
We have a copy of the 1st Pope County History book, and recently I purchased
the book of ancestral charts. All these things are helpful, but sometimes
people can add to what has already been found. (Oh yeh, the Shadrack
Abbott listed in the history book I figured out was our Shadrack's nephew.
He must have been named after him. Wilson Abbott had several children:
Cornelius, Henderson, Martha, William, and McCleon........... The Shadrack
in the history book was Cornelius's son).

books, commentaries, access to records and happen to check out some info on
any of these people I would greatly appreciate it. We take off Friday for
vacation, so if any of you try to contact me I may not be able to respond
until I am back on the 23rd. Thank you all, and I hope to have opportunity
to get to know all of you better in the days ahead.
