Judy,
It sounds like you may be referring to the Dees of St Francis Twp, Wayne County Missouri? Such as the Jesse Dees (enumerated on the same page as David Dees) who had a daughter Saphronia that married Wm Leach? Also the Joshua Joyner family nearby? I am interested in these groups as well and like you, I suspect they were from the Pope County Illinois area. If these are the groups you are interested in, I would like to compare research notes with you.
Recently, I was viewing some LDS FHC microfilms on grantor/grantee indices for early Pope County. I only found one DEES (there were a number of DEWEESE but I did not extract those of that surname). The Dees was grantor Sarah Dees to grantee John Turner, the instrument "assignment" the year 1822 book A p[1014 somewhat illegible].
I also extracted most of the Joyner/Joiner names. Here is a list of what I extracted. The first names (all Joiner's) were "Grantor" the second name(s) "Grantee"
Joiner, Absalom & others Edward Hazel deed 1850 Book F p238
Joiner, Absalom & wife Wm H. Cullum deed 1857 H:403
Joiner, George W & wife Joshua Joiner deed 1858 H:524
Joiner, Carroll Obediah & Hickman Joiner deed 1858 H:593
Joiner, Joshua Joshua M. Joiner deed 1858 H-630
Joiner, Joshua M. & wife Wm N. Miller mortgage 1858 H:664
Joiner, J.M. & wife Wm N. Miller deed 1859 I:394
Joiner, Hickman & wife Wiley B.E. Hale deed 1863 L:765
Joiner, Absalom W.C. Neff & Co oil lease 1865 M:316
I did copy more of the Joiner into later years if you are interested in them. I thought you might find these names helpful to your research. Please contact me if you are interested in comparing notes and exchanging information.
