We are cousins [of degree] from the MARLEN side of the "tree".
William Newton OLIVER married Amanda D.WILLIAMSON who was d/o Martin Green
WILLIAMSON and Margaret Davis MARLEN. Margaret Davis MARLEN WILLIAMSON had
a sister who was Louisa Chapman MARLEN KARSTETTER ... my gt gt grandmother.

Adjutant General's report says William was 24 years old at enlistment.

... was a single farmer in Chester
... born in Arkansas [NOTE that this differs from the other info???]
... joined 1 August [1862]
... mustered out 10 June 1865 Camp Harker ... appt. Corporal
... promoted to Sergeant 1 Jan 1864.
