We are cousins [of degree] from the MARLEN side of the "tree".
William Newton OLIVER married Amanda D.WILLIAMSON who was d/o Martin Green
WILLIAMSON and Margaret Davis MARLEN. Margaret Davis MARLEN WILLIAMSON had
a sister who was Louisa Chapman MARLEN KARSTETTER ... my gt gt grandmother.
Are you interested in exchanging info about the WILLIAMSON-MARLEN side?

......was a soldier in CIVIL WAR Co.D 80th Ill Infantry.

Adjutant General's report says William was 24 years old at enlistment.
... had gray eyes
... light hair
... light complexion
... height 5'9"
... was a single farmer in Chester
... born in Arkansas [NOTE that this differs from the other info???]
... joined 1 August [1862]
... mustered out 10 June 1865 Camp Harker ... appt. Corporal
... promoted to Sergeant 1 Jan 1864.
