Samuel Edward DAVIS was born 1864 Illinois
(had 1861 Alton, Madison but marriage and daughters birth indicate 1864)
married Grace Ester RYERSON (b:1868 Illinois to Scottish parents, adopted by
Tunis and Rose Ryerson, married Sam in Chicago 1887, died 1917 Chicago)

father was William or Samuel DAVIS b:about 1831 Ohio.
mother was Julia (had SMITH in notes)
family was involved with butter/creamery business in Chicago.

found 1880 Census in Chicago of
Samuel Boyd DAVIS b:1834 Ohio -cheese/butter maker (parents from VA)
Julia Ann b:1851 Ill (father from KY, mom from NY)
{found to be Julia Ann MILLER m:1858 Madison, Ill)
Children born in Illinois:
Willie (1860)
Julia (1862 - found record of birth in Alton, Madison)
Samuel (1864)
Edith (1871)
Ruth (1875)
{this is too coincidental not to be right family}

Father is noted to die around 1917
Samuel Edward noted to die at age 64 (late 1920's) but seem to have addresses
up to mid 1940's from Grace's cemetery. Samuel Edward had remarried a Mabel
after Grace died in 1917.

Sam and Grace had children Laurence Ryerson, Eugene Edward, Kathryn, and
Barbara Rose DAVIS. Barbara was born 1907 Elgin, Kane, Illinois.
