Hi Lynne,

Do a google search for the Illinois State Archives. Click on "online
databases," then you can do a global search of all their data bases, including
marriage and death. Births are hard. I don't know when the State started requiring
birth certificates. A lot of babies were born at home. I know my mother,
born 1895, was able to get one in Harvey, Illinois. But I think someone had to
verify the information so it could be issued. I don't think it was commonlt
recorded back then.
