I was told that Ruth was the sister of my grandfather so I am not sure if she would be listed under the surname Allen or McGowan. She would have been born around 1906 or 1907. She possibly could have lived with Ethel McGowan or Allen or her grandfather Reverend Robert McGowan born in Canada and his wife Joanne"
Gina, I'm not sure what information you want from the 1900 census, since Ruth McGOWAN wasn't yet born.
You say that Ruth was enumerated in 1920 as Ruth McGOWAN; I assume she was single at age 13, so is there some reason you are questioning whether McGOWAN was her maiden name?
Is your grandfather's surname McGOWAN or ALLEN?
