As a hobby, I rescue old photos from auctions, antique shops and estate sales.
I came across one, from Illinois, of a WWI soldier. He appears to be a bit older, not a young boy. There's a raised stamp in the lower left hand corner that reads: Shutner, Maywood, ILL. On the back is written: "?Ben Lenhardt" Below Ben is Edgar. I did a brief search on Ben/Benjamin Lenhardt and one of Edgar Lenhardt. Nothing came up at all for Edgar. Under Benjamin, I found one who lived in Illinois and located a WWI registration card. He was 32, born in 1886, worked as a mail carrier and was married to an Arnoldenia Lenhardt. This is dated 1918.
It's in excellent condition. I'd like to get it back into the hands of family. All I ask is what I paid for it, plus the cost of a sturdy mailer and postage (usually about $2.)
