Mary Ann,
I've had this hobby for 23 years now and enjoy it so much that I
LOOK for ways to help people because it is just so fun to put the
puzzles together!

I do have lines in Morgan county, Illinois. I love Genealogy books
and am throwing my money that way as fast as possible, which isn't
fast enough these days. The names for Morgan GAINES and LINDSLEY.
There are others of course, but these are my main lines.

Beardstown, Morgan for those two families and others that married
into them.
Lindsley was also in Cass county.

My main people wouldn't be in the 1850 census and above because in
1850 they were in Cass and in 1860 they were in Atchison, Missouri.
However, family members may have stayed behind in Morgan. Perhaps
they show up in some of the history books.

My Gaines family lived there (Beardstown) but I'm not sure when they
left. they too went to Missouri eventually. My Gaines family was
also in Sangamon. you know...Peter Cartwright's wife was Frances
Gaines, she was the sister to my William B. Gaines who was the
youngest known sibling of that family. He migrated with the
Cartwright/Gaines families and stayed for a while before moving on.
I came to Sangamon through this line from my mother's side. and
researching my birth father's family I came to Sangamon through him,
unrelated to her people. This kind of hooked me on research in that
county.

About CD's...have you checked out the cds that are exact photocopies
of the census? Most of them are from Texas at this point but I do
have the one that is for 1850 Orange, Indiana. They just can't make
them fast enough for my desires!

Well, time to focus on my children.

Cherie
