I found this information from the rootsweb site for Fayette County, IL.
You can obtain uncertified copies of death certificates for anyone who died in
Illinois between
1916 and 1945 free by email request. You canonly request 2 at a time and have
to wait for those two to come by USPS before you can request two more.
Include your name, address, specify death certificate, county, full name and
year of death.
Send requests by email to:
It takes about 6-8 weeks for your request.
