I cannot begin to thank you enough for finding this. His suicide always haunted my mother. I wish she could have seen this. Thank you so much!!! It explains a lot and also explains my mothers memories of it. Evidently what she remembered was the funeral. She was five at the time. She said all her life she had nightmares about it. Her memories were of a huge diner. All the women were preparing food. Then her uncle came in grabbed his shotgun and went to hunt squirrel. Her grandmother told him not to be long. They heard a shot. The menfolk went to investigate and found her uncle dead by a self inflected gunshot wound. Mom remembers the crying and screaming of her grandmother and how it scared her. What she must have remembered was the funeral and the grown ups talking about what happened and thus it became mixed together in her mind. Thank you again for finding this. It means so much.
