I would like to emphasiza Carlene's marriage record of John H. Smith and Mary Bennett as probably your family.
In the obit, it lists the wife of Dayton Prater as a cousin. Dayton Prater was my grandfather's brother. He was married to Daisy Maud Smith. I have her as born 1894 and died 1987. Looked up Daisy Smith in the 1900 census. Although ancestry lists a birthdate of 1899, I looked at the page and found Dec. 1893. Think it is her.

Daisy Smith age crossed out but birthdate listed as Dec. 1893 niece (I think she was an orphan.) Her death certificate would probably list her parents names.

Note that there are no children in the family, except for niece Daisy.
Sorry, I really do not know much about Daisy. She and Dayton are buried at Mound Cemetery, Cowden (Shelby Co.) IL.
