Ezra Baker, Ezra Baker, Jr. and their respective families arrived in Wabash Co. in the 1820's. The senior Bakers died there about ten years later. Ezra, Jr. was a physician, but spent his energies (and money) in land speculation and numerous business ventures (flour mill, sawmill, castor bean mill, pork packing plant). He eventually lost his money and moved away -- some histories say to Philadelphia, others to Indiana. Reportedly he died in 1870.
His first wife was Elizabeth Haupt Baker. On her death Ezra married her niece, Catherine Haupt, who was the daughter of Wabash Co. resident Abraham Haupt. Ezra's children were Edwin, Barton, Dorsey, and Sarah. All left Wabash Co. as young adults, but Dorsey's second wife, Mary Legier, was from Wabash Co.
I'd appreciate information on any of the above, especially Ezra, Jr.
Thanks,

Richard Reynolds
