Hi, I have an old German Home Medicine Book (printed 1883) that belonged to
my great grandmother, Hannah Goodart Anthis Zuber. Hannah's maiden name
was Gutekunst which was changed to Goodart and she was married to Alfred
Anthis before marrying Jacob Zuber. Al and Hannah had several children and
she and Jacob had one child, Louis-- my grandfather. Louis was 13 when he
and some of his Anthis half siblings (I think they were half siblings)
scribbled names inside the book. I cannot locate these names in my FTM
files and was wondering if someone could help me.
The scribbling was done by Louie and 2 girls (typical 13 yr old
things--like Louis love Lilly, etc). It is cute to read. Here are the
names-- Daisy Anthis (don't have her listed), a Lilly or Libby Russel and
a Charley M. Anthis-- I do have a Charley M. Anthis (he is about 6 yrs older
than Louis and a half brother). I think the Charley was the object of one
of the girl's affections. But Louis, Lilly and Daisey did the writing.
Daisy and Lillie may be sisters or 1st cousins and their parent may be a
half sibling to Louis.
After reading the little notes, I thought I really need to find where
these people fit. The writing was done in pencil, and Lilly's hand writing
was the worst-- her last name looks like "Nossel" and it looked like she was
learning to write cursively. Thanks for any light you can shed on these
children. Helen Zuber Keusch and still Snooping in the ZUBER, GOODART,
LAND, EDWARDS,
CRABTREE, BENNETT, GOODWIN, CHAPMAN, EAKINS,
FORD, SANDEFUR, MELTON, WALCUP, HANDLEY,
EZELL, and THOMASSON family lines (my parents' families)
