His grandson, John, m. a Caroline Brown 2-2-1856. John has a brother,

Subject: [ILWABASH] Newman, Root, Sloan,Pharr connection

Looking for any connection for the Sloan and Newman families living in
Wabash Co, IL during the 1800's. I have ties to both and am wondering how
they are "related". Mary Caroline Newman b 1831 KY m Henry E, Root Wabash
Co, IL 1848 They had a daughter Elsie who m Jarvis Rila Fewkes who was the
son of Sarah Melissa Sloan and John Fewkes of Bellmont, IL. After Jarvis'
death, Elsie m Ulyssses Lincoln Sloan and moved to Washington State in 1906.

Also a Dr. Pharr is bd at Friendsville Cemetery along with the Newman's and
Sarah Melissa's father was Ephraim Pharr Sloan. Sloan and Newman people
were also at Ridge Cemetery Lick Prarie Wabash Co, IL

Ephraim Pharr Sloan was my gggggrandfather and Henry Root my ggggrandfather.
I have no further info on Mary Caroline...except that she may have been the
daughter of J. T. Newman and Elizabeth Orhilla Newman (Elizabeth b Ridge
Cemetery have not found b place of J. T. nor his full name.) .

Can anyone tie these people together for me? I sure would apppreciate
anything you might add to what I have. Puzzles are completed piece by
piece.

Thanks
íJudy
