Have been reading the posts about the Couch-Higgins lines. I too am
directly related to Levi Couch and Cynthia Higgins through their son
Ebenezer and his second wife Louisa Runyon. By the way, Darren, the
photos were fun ... thanks.

A couple of questions:

I only have one marriage for Levi Couch .. the one to Cynthia. When was
he married to a Mary?

The note about William Higgins being married to Sally Young in Wilson
County confuses me. I have him married to Sarah Rodgers and a second
wife Alzena Crowe. He is listed with Elzina age 24 in the 1850 census.

I was just in Mt. Carmel about two weeks ago and did some work at the
Mt. Carmel library. There is a fairly new book there on the Higgins
Family ... Higgins: Farming Their Way West ... From England to Plymouth
to Illinois; Compiled by Charles and Joyce Higgins of Charlestown, NH in
2000. There is no mention of this family ever being in the Wilson
County area, they came from NY to OH to IL. For anyone interested in
the book it is probably available through:
