Cindy,
I located your Richard and Ellen Fitzgeralds - 1900 census -
they were both born in Ireland. Richard came to American in 1868
and Ellen in 1870 - they married about 1874. His occupation is
"Balif". Their daughter Katey was born July 1884 - her
occupation is "cigar maker". Ellen says she was born June 1853
and Richard says born 1845. The only other child at home is
Richard L born Oct 1886.
They had 7 children and 4 are alive.

Hi Deb
You've just added to the mystery of the Irish sisters. It could
be
Fitzgerald, FitzGerald or Fitzgeralds. I'm dealing with Irish
sisters who
for some reason seem to be trying to hide something. The only
children I
know of is a Catherine she was born in 1885, (Catherine married
an Charles
August Wirtz) a male child who was born in 1886 and another
daughter named
Minnie age unknown. I know they were there I have letters Ellen
wrote to
her sister in Urbana, ILL. (who also never told the truth about
many things)
They both died in Evansville. Richard in 1913 and Ellen in 1929.
According
to the death record, it is a death card, not a certificate on
Richard he was
a formerly on the Evansville Police and fire department. He was
survived
by a wife and several children, and that he was related of Capt
Dick Muth of
the EPD. They were members of the Assumption Church. It could
be the Ella,
was she born in Ireland? Or the deputy Sheriff. I'm basically
going on
info I have on Richard. Ella and her sisters age differs 20
years depending
on what record you look at. The age they claim they were when
they married,
when they had kids, the obits say about this age. None of them
through the
years can pick a maiden name and stick with it either, more less
their
parents first names. Between 3 of them they use 4 different
maiden names,
they never use the same combo of names twice. All I know about
Ellen for
sure is that she had a daughter named Catherine (Kate) whom
married a
Charles August Wirtz, , a grandson Marvin, two other sisters in
the states
Mary Ann Price LeRoy in ILL and Catherine Sullivan in PA and one
in Ireland,
Maggie O'Neill in Cahier.
