This is a tough one. First off, I don't find any
results for a California or Callie Sewell of any
soundex spelling anywhere, either young or older.

She is listed as getting married in Hancock County
in 1886, yet I can not find her by that name in
1870 or 1880 census. The only Sewell family that
seems to be in Hancock County is the Fielding
Sewell family. They were still having children,
it seems, in the 1860s, but Fielding and wife are
apparently dead? by the 1870 census as I don't
find them, and their minor children are scattered
around with other families.

So for what it may be worth, here is what I found:
