Harold R. Steffen Dies; Rites Sunday

Harold R. Steffen, 48, of Decatur Route 6, operator of Steffen Motor auto agencies in Decatur and Fort Wayne, died at 5:20 p.m. Thursday at Lutheran Hospital following an extended illness.
A native and lifelong residence of Adams County, he was born May 25, 1919, a son of John and Lydia Gerber Steffen. His marriage to Marie Rager, who survives, took place in September 1955 in Latty, O.
A member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Mr. Steffen was a veteran of World War II. He owned a car dealership, Steffen Motors, in Decatur and Fort Wayne.
Surviving, in addition to he wife, are four sons, Edwin, Robert, Ray and Kent, and a daughter, Rose, all at home; three brothers, Wilmer, Glennis and Ralph, all of Decatur Route 4, and four sisters, Mrs. Harry (Catherine) Reinhard of Craigville Route 1, Mrs. Roy (Vergene) Reinhard of Decatur Route 4; Miss Mildred Steffen and Miss Violet Steffen, both of Decatur Route 4.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at Goodwin Funeral Home and at the Apostolic Christian Church after noon Sunday until services at 1 p.m. Rev. Samuel Aeschliman will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
