The 1880, 1900, 1910 and 1920 census are indexed if you go to a library,
Allen Co., Library in Ft. Wayne Indiana or any library that have the Census &
Soundex, have them get the Soundex for a specific name. They will show you how to
code the name. These are very easy to use. The Soundex have most of the
same information that the regular census. Once you locate your person, then you
can ask for the regular census. You can get a soundex for your surname, Ray,
and it lets you look at the whole state for the surname.
