Sarah;

Thanks for the rapid response.

OK, since we have determined that nothing was wrong with the web server and
having RootsWeb host the site, and since RootsWeb does not have
advertisement on their pages, and since it was so convenient to have "one
stop shopping" when the pages were are RootsWeb for the Indiana counties,
and since every search engine known to mankind had found the Adams County,
Indiana site on the RootsWeb server and still point to RootsWeb as to where
to look, what you say, how about you move the files back to the RootsWeb
server?

Tweak the site, add content, delete out of date content, add or delete
graphics all you want as webmaster. Just put the files back to their logical
site so people can find them.

Thanks for your help.

Richard;

There was nothing wrong with the RW server. I recvd permission to move the
files to another server which I did. I was asked by another on the list why
the marriages, births and deaths have not shown up along with my new
website. It was only because that those files were on a different
subdirectory on the RW server, that I wasn't able to get since RW decided to
deny me access to my account when I added the Note that I was changing
servers.

Nothing has been taken away. The site is only on another server.

What was wrong with the RW web server? It hosted the Adams county web pages
just fine, and best of all, there was no forced advertisements on the site,
which sadly is no longer the case. It was very easy to find any Indiana
county web site, you just had to add the ~, then IN, then the next six
letters of the county name, or in the case of counties with shorter than 6
letter names, the full name, and you were there. Now this is no longer the
case with the Adams county site. It has some oddball name that will never be
remembered, forcing us to always having to look it up.

I would be interested to know why you felt that you needed to move the
entire Adams county web site off the RW server, lose the continuity with the
entire state of Indiana system, and have forced advertising while doing
genealogy research.

Thanks for your help.
