PLAN, PLAN, PLAN and then stick to your plan because it is so easy to get sidetracked with so much information available. I take a clip board, lots of blank paper to write on and use for book marks, (I reuse the backside of faxes that come into my business.)and several sharp pencils and pens. Read just enough to verify that the information that you have found is related to your search. You will be tempted to read the whole article...but do that at night or on your way home. You will lose valuable searching time...Mark the page and go to the next book. I do a bunch of copying at the same time. I might have three to five books with slips of paper for bookmarks marking the pages I want copies of.. And I do not wait in a long line for copying...I will go find more infor keeping an eye on the copiers to see when there is a small line or better...no line. Go early and plan on spending the day...or... when I go to the Fort Wayne area in the summer... We visit cemeteries in the!
morning
when it is cooler and less humid. Then we go to the library in the afternoon and evening to get into air conditioning. It is the midwest after all...

I never, never have enough time when I am there and always go home without finding something on my list. I start planning my next trip on my way home...I live in Chicago and it is just far enough that you can not do it in a day...Plan on this being the first but not your last trip.... Use the website to help you know what they have. I spent one afternoon on just Microfilm...It is time consuming searching through films...if you do that ...Make sure that you are on a reader with a printer.. Plan to take small bills for paying for copies...I got a card that I put 5 dollars on and keep it for other visits...You can alway add more $ to it if need be...But you probably do not want to tie up too much money on it between visits...

Hope these help..I am ready for a visit to the Library too...
