John D Kennedy was a resident of Brown County when he enlisted as a private in the 22nd IN Inf,Co C on August 15,1861. He was discharged for a disability on May 17,1862.

There is also a John D Kennedy from Bean Blossom,IN shown as enlisting in the 22nd IN Inf,co C on October 25,1862 and being mustered out on July 24,1865 in Washington,D.C.

I imagine this is the same man. He probably got sick and was discharged with the disablity(any number of illnesses). He probably then recovered and re-enlisted back into his unit and company.

Hope this helps. I would check Northern Brown Co cemeteries first. I checked Morgan county and didnt find him listed as being buried there.
